Now monitoring 3,000+ elevators across 30+ cities and regions

Every elevator talks.
Now you can hear it.

Dr. Elevage continuously monitors an elevator’s vibration and sound — learning its normal operating signature, detecting emerging mechanical anomalies, and verifying maintenance outcomes with before-and-after data.

Why now

Aging fleets. Shrinking crews.

Elevator fleets are growing and aging faster than manual inspection alone can efficiently cover. The gap that opens up is not really a maintenance problem — it is a measurement problem.

The per-technician ratio is our own calculation from the published figures.

Maintenance is still scheduled by the calendar, not by condition. The elevator that is quietly failing gets exactly the same visit as the one that is perfectly healthy — and nobody finds out which was which until someone is trapped inside.

The shift

From checklists to evidence.

Same technicians. Same routes. A completely different basis for every decision they make.

How elevators are maintained today
With Dr. Elevage
—Fixed intervals — every unit gets the same visit
→Condition-based — units ranked by measured risk
—“It sounds fine to me”
→A measured vibration and acoustic baseline for every unit
—The fault is found after the entrapment
→Mechanical degradation can be identified before failure
—Proof of work is a signed sheet and a photo
→Before-and-after data provides an independent record of the outcome
—One portal per elevator brand — or none at all
→Multiple brands and age groups in a single dashboard

How it works

Four steps. One closed loop.

No cameras, no wiring into the controller, no proprietary protocol to license. Just the two physical signals every elevator is already producing.

Sense

Sensors on the car top and at the door zone capture the vibration and sound the elevator produces as it runs, without reading any controller data.

Learn

The model learns this elevator’s operating baseline, so an older elevator is compared with its own history — not with a new one.

Detect

When the signature drifts persistently from baseline, the system matches it against known fault patterns and names a suspected component and where to inspect.

Verify

A technician verifies the finding on site with the Portable Inspector, then repeats the measurement at the same points after the repair. Verified repair outcomes feed back into the system to help refine future assessments.

What you actually get

Modular devices that listen.
One platform that understands.

The devices capture the signals. The platform turns them into diagnostics, work orders and reports — building a long-term operating record for your fleet.

01 THE DEVICES · HARDWARE

They collect

Magnetic, non-invasive and installed in about 15 minutes during a routine maintenance visit. No drilling or controller connection. Designed for rope-traction elevators across a wide range of brands and ages; other elevator types should be confirmed under Compatibility.

02 THE PLATFORM · SOFTWARE

It understands

The AI engine builds a baseline for each elevator, detects sustained deviations from that baseline, and points technicians to suspected components and inspection locations. After maintenance, the same measurement points can be checked again to verify the outcome and preserve a traceable record.

  • Per-unit AI baseline Each elevator judged against its own history — an 18-year-old machine is not compared to a new one
  • 50+ fault signatures Bearing wear, guide-rail impact, door-operator drift — matched to suspected components, travel segments and severity levels
  • Your fleet intelligence, growing over time Verified repair outcomes feed back into the system, helping refine future assessments as the operating record grows.
  • One-click reports Compliance reviews, owner reports and underwriting discussions draw on the same passively collected, traceable record

Non-invasive magnetic mount

No structural change, no drilling, no modification to the elevator or its controller.

About 15 minutes during routine maintenance

Install during a routine maintenance visit, without scheduling a separate extended shutdown.

Compatibility that does not depend on the controller

Because sensing takes place outside the control system, deployment does not depend on the controller brand, its age or a proprietary protocol. Which elevator types are covered — and which need targeted adaptation — is set out under Compatibility.

Inside the platform

Your whole fleet on one screen.
The unit that needs you today is at the top.

A fleet list tells you what you have. A risk-ranked view, with suspected components and inspection points, helps you decide where to act first.

Who it's for

One dataset. Four perspectives.

See what the same data means for your role.

Start with the data. Confirm it on site.

Use measured risk to prioritize visits, then arrive with a suspected component and recommended inspection points. On-site verification and before-and-after measurements help reduce unnecessary callouts and repeat troubleshooting.

  • Route today's crew by measured risk, not by the calendar
  • Win renewals with a report the customer can actually read
  • Monitor mixed-brand fleets in one system

Protect the asset. Prove the spend.

Use condition trends to prioritize investment, and discuss maintenance outcomes using the same before-and-after data as the service provider.

  • Budget from condition data, not from vendor quotes
  • Identify developing issues before they become passenger complaints
  • Keep a passively collected, traceable operating record

Bring measurement to the inspection.

Support professional judgment with repeatable measurements taken at defined points using a consistent method.

  • Standardized, repeatable measurement procedure
  • Vibration, acoustic and speed curves inside the report
  • Traceable measurement records when a finding is reviewed or challenged

Price the risk you can actually see.

Use per-unit condition data as an additional input to risk assessment and underwriting discussions, with a continuous log available for incident review.

  • Consistent, comparable condition-risk grade per unit
  • Complete data log for incident investigation
  • Recognize fleets with consistently documented maintenance outcomes

Evidence

Real elevators. Real signals. Real faults.

Every elevator tells its story through vibration and sound. Here is what two of them told us.

A two-month trend revealed a developing traction-machine fault before failure

A 15-year-old unit showed nothing visible. The vibration trend showed a clear three-phase escalation, and the repair was moved into a planned window.

The team had done the job. The question was whether the problem was gone. Measuring the same points before and after answered it in numbers, not opinions.

Why us

Trained on real failures. Traceable to the raw data.

Patents and proprietary IP

QSD Technologies holds multiple granted patents and software copyrights related to acoustic sensing and vibration analysis for elevator systems.

Models trained on real failures

Machine learning trained on real-world elevator fault scenarios, not simulations. Verified repair outcomes are fed back into the system to improve future assessments.

A complete data evidence chain

From the first anomaly to the verified fix, every step is recorded by the device rather than typed in by the party being assessed. That is what makes the record worth quoting.

The questions we get asked first

Does it work on our elevator brand?

Yes. The sensor measures physical vibration and sound from outside the system, so it needs no access to the controller and no manufacturer protocol. It supports traction elevators across a wide range of brands and ages. Special elevator types, site conditions and duty profiles are assessed individually before deployment.

Do we have to shut the elevator down to install it?

Installation requires qualified personnel to access the car top in inspection mode, under the applicable elevator-safety procedure. Magnetic, non-invasive mounting takes about 15 minutes and can be completed during a routine maintenance visit, without a separate extended shutdown.

How is this different from the IoT service our OEM already sells?

Many OEM monitoring platforms are designed around the manufacturer’s own equipment, protocols and service ecosystem. Dr. Elevage takes a different approach: it measures vibration and acoustic signals independently of the elevator controller, allowing supported rope-traction elevators across different brands and ages to be monitored within one system.

Does acoustic sensing involve passenger privacy?

The microphone sits on the car top — outside the car — and the door-zone collector has no microphone at all. Acoustic features and spectra are extracted on the device; raw audio is neither stored nor uploaded, and only feature data reaches the cloud. The system does no voice recognition and no passenger-behavior analysis. How operating data is handled and retained is set out in the project agreement.
